UNESCO experts will discuss the role of information technologies and communications during the IT Forum
The 3rd international conference "Information and Communication in the Digital Age: Explicit and Implicit Impacts" will be held on June 17-18, in Khanty-Mansiysk, as part of the XII International IT Forum and the UNESCO "Information for All" Intergovernmental Programme.
About 150 experts from 58 countries and all continents are expected to discuss the processes and trends in the development of civilization generated by the rapid penetration of ICT in all spheres of life.
The development of artificial intelligence and cloud computing, big data analytics and virtual reality, embedded systems and the Internet of things contribute to the transition to new technological and social standards. The oncoming future brings both positive expectations and clearly perceived threats.
The speed of changes is so high that society often does not have time to study them promptly and respond adequately. The attempts to analyze the current situation, to predict possible directions of development and their consequences are based on rapidly outdated approaches.
The conference under the aegis of UNESCO will promote the search of a balance between the development rate of information and communication technologies and the ability of society to respond to changing reality. Special attention will be paid to the following topics: the revolution of values: a new understanding of rights and freedoms; numbers and society; the emerging model of "surveillance capitalism".
Organizers of the event: the Russian Committee of the UNESCO "Information for All" Intergovernmental Programme, the Interregional Library Cooperation Centre, UNESCO Institute for Information Technologies in Education, UNESCO, the Permanent Delegation of the Russian Federation to UNESCO, the Commission of the Russian Federation for UNESCO, the International Institute of Central Asian Studies.
The conference will be held both online and offline.
The general partners of the IT Forum are: PRIME GROUP, Rosneft, Rostelecom, Salym Petroleum, Slavneft-Megionneftegaz. Investment partners - Technocom, FORCE.
